Casablanca

Casablanca is the name of the wine valley an hour and a half away from Santiago. We visit Casas del Bosque, a winery located in that valley, with Brian's host family. There we have a delicious meal and take a guided tour of the winery and facilities. Brian's meal involves the daring deer meat, while Erica goes with a delicate crab ravioli. During the tour we learn about how different types of wine are made and aged, and get to enjoy different parts of the beautiful winery.

Algarrobo

After the lunch and tour at the winery, we start heading home. However, Brian's host family realizes that the beach is only another hour away, and that we might make it there by sunset. So we turn around and head toward Algarrobo beach. As we arrive, Erica is immediately surrounded by stray dogs looking for love. After departing from her new best friends, Erica gets us churros con manjar. We all walk along the beach, admiring the calmness of the ocean and enjoying the vivid colors. Once the sun set, we search for a bathroom in vain, and leave the now cold beach for a warmer home.
