Santiago is home to a great organization called Tours for Tips. Their goal is to give visitors a great walking tour of downtown Santiago in exchange for tips in the amount the participants deem fit. The tours are offered in both Spanish and English (phew) and are given by young, enthusiastic people dressed like Waldo. As we arrive in front of the museum we are greeted by our guide for the day. Her name is Cosi and she's been all over the world. Once everyone is gathered, we embark on our three-hour walking tour of downtown.

Plaza de ArmasRight outside of the cathedral is a square called Plaza de Armas. In it is a little park, as well as crowds of people watching comedians and clowns. In fact, while Brian is taking pictures of a particular crowd surrounding a comedian, the comedian notices and starts beckoning for him to come to the center of the circle in Spanish. Not wanting to be ridiculed, and especially not in a language he can't completely understand, Brian runs away from the circle.

SunsetAfter tipping our guide generously and suddenly understanding why their system works, Erica chats with a few people at the headquarters. As we head back to the subway, we stop in the middle of a bridge and witness another incredible sunset in Chile. Once the sun set, we take the subway and head home all by ourselves.
