Today, Brian doesn't feel well and stays home to rest and work on the blog. Meanwhile, Erica meets with Lisa and Tiffany to discuss where she could be of help in the last half of their 7th grade social studies project. As the students finish their infographics to spread awareness of pressing global issues, they move on to constructing their own solutions to these issues. The goal is to create “Pitch Deck” presentations to pitch their idea to a panel of teachers, students and business professionals. After getting an idea of what Lissa and Tiffany have in mind for the presentations, Erica drafts a directions/outline page for the students. While creating the outline, Erica works closely with Lissa to find a balance between structure and freedom that will work best for the students during the project. Erica also prepares a mini-lesson where the students will analyze example “Pitch Deck” slides. She hopes this will help to inspire creative ways to display their ideas in their pitches.
